The position requires a suitably qualified person with Tertiary qualifications in Occupational health and safety or related discipline. The OHS Advisor is responsible for leading and coordinating Health, Safety and wellbeing activities across the Insig group ensuring that the organisation complies with all relevant health and safety laws and regulations to protect staff within the workplace.


Key Accountabilities include:

  • Responsible for power system analysis including fault studies, protection co-ordination, arc flash, and earthing studies. Highly experienced in energy management, energy options analysis, energy efficiency and power quality analysis.

  • Responsible for the application of a broad range of engineering and energy analysis software tools including but not limited to SKM PTW, ETAP, HOMER Pro, Helioscope, PVsyst, AutoCAD.

  • Responsible for the technical input into network grid connections and managing projects to network performance standards.

  • Responsible for functional safety management and safety in design. As a contributor to the review and sign off

  • Strong background in manufacturing in electrical switchgear and substation design, as well as in the construction, installation, testing and commissioning phases for electrical infrastructure projects. Well versed in interfacing MCC control and VSDs with PLC and SCADA systems.

  • Highly experienced within each phase of the engineering Front End Loading (FEL) electrical engineering process including; design, project management, installation management, commissioning, testing and operations and asset maintenance.

Skills and Experience


  • Strong background in electrical switchgear and substation design (415V, 3.3kV, 6.6kV, 11kV, 22kV, 33kV, 66kV), manufacturing, construction installation and commissioning.

  • Extensive background in fault analysis, earthing, HV and MV transmission and distribution design.

  • A Chartered Professional  Electrical Engineer with over 10 years’ experience working on major projects; lead engineering roles in professional projects.

  • Highly developed cost control, project and contract management skills and experience.

  • Strong communication skills


  • Broad brownfield and greenfield experience across energy and resources sectors –including emerging sustainable sectors
