We are currently seeking an organised and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design of electrical systems, equipment verification, product innovation and project management of specialised E&I projects. This role would suit someone who enjoys a challenge with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for overseeing the electrical scope for varying projects and products within the mining sector, including open cut mining and underground mining operations.
Responsible for scoping and providing cost estimates for high level project bids in new and developing mines in Australia and potentially overseas.
Responsible for functional safety management and safety in design. As a contributor to the review and sign off
Strong background in manufacturing electrical switchgear and substation design, as well as in the construction, installation, testing and commissioning phases for electrical infrastructure projects.
Well versed in interfacing MCC control and VSDs with PLC and SCADA systems.
Highly experienced within each phase of the engineering Front End Loading (FEL) electrical engineering process including; design, project management, installation management, commissioning, testing and operations and asset maintenance.
Research and develop opportunities within the mining sector.
Managing a dedicated team of Electrical Engineers, Engineering Graduates & Interns of differing disciplines.
Skills and Experience
Essential
10+ Years’ experience in the Electrical Engineering field delivering high value projects in the resourcing industry.
Lead Electrical Engineering experience in open cut mining and underground mining operations.
Highly developed cost control, project and contract management skills and experience.
Strong communication skills
Strong skills in professionally developing Graduate & Intern engineering resources
Desirable
Functional Safety Certification
Experience in underground shaft and winding systems
Knowledge of control systems and industrial networking would be beneficial.
