Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for overseeing the electrical scope for varying projects and products within the mining sector, including open cut mining and underground mining operations.

• Responsible for scoping and providing cost estimates for high level project bids in new and developing mines in Australia and potentially overseas.

• Responsible for functional safety management and safety in design. As a contributor to the review and sign off

• Strong background in manufacturing electrical switchgear and substation design, as well as in the construction, installation, testing and commissioning phases for electrical infrastructure projects.

• Well versed in interfacing MCC control and VSDs with PLC and SCADA systems.

• Highly experienced within each phase of the engineering Front End Loading (FEL) electrical engineering process including; design, project management, installation management, commissioning, testing and operations and asset maintenance.

• Research and develop opportunities within the mining sector.

• Managing a dedicated team of Electrical Engineers, Engineering Graduates & Interns of differing disciplines.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• 10+ Years’ experience in the Electrical Engineering field delivering high value projects in the resourcing industry.

• Lead Electrical Engineering experience in open cut mining and underground mining operations.

• Highly developed cost control, project and contract management skills and experience.

• Strong communication skills

• Strong skills in professionally developing Graduate & Intern engineering resources

Desirable

• Functional Safety Certification

• Experience in underground shaft and winding systems

• Knowledge of control systems and industrial networking would be beneficial.
