Operational Technology Specialist

About the job

This role is directly responsible for the creation, management and communication of the safety case. As such, this role is responsible for creating and managing the safety plan throughout the develop life-cycle, including production and field monitoring.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning, resource management and execution of all operational technology projects, as directed by the Operational Technology Manager.

  • Assist with product research and project design processes, liaising with customer representatives to ensure fit-for-purpose requirements are defined and satisfied.

  • Assist with technology project management activities such as procurement, personnel mobilisation and project execution co-ordination.

  • Attend sites as required for advanced diagnostics or project implementation activities. Interstate and International travel when required

  • Actively participate in personal development training opportunities

  • Carry out specialised installations, maintenance and repairs on underground remote-controlled, guidance enabled equipment, such as underground LHD’s, drilling machines.

  • Carry out servicing and repairs on remote control ancillary equipment and associated communications/network infrastructure. Including tele-remote level designs and network setups.

  • Solve complex equipment related issues, with an emphasis on providing continual product and service improvements.

  • Providing a high level of technical and operational product support to InSig Technologies customers and field service personnel.

  • Actively participate in remote operational innovation initiatives.

  • Assist field service personnel with development of technology servicing procedures and schedules.

  • Provide relief coverage for technology field service support staff as required

  • Carry out electrical installations, repairs and automation related testing/commissioning on associated underground mining equipment, including, LHD’s, Development and Production drilling machines.

  • Comply with InSig Technologies and customer SHEQ and WHS requirements.

Skills and Experience:

  • Electrical Trade/Engineering qualification.

  • Minimum 2 years Underground Mining Experience.

  • Extensive experience working with underground mobile equipment (Drills and LHD’s)

  • WA A Class Manual Driver’s license.

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

  • Extensive experience with underground Tele-Remote & Independent guidance systems.

  • Strong working knowledge of underground equipment.

  • Optic Fibre and Networking experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematic diagrams.

  • Must be a self-starter and have a dedicated commitment to safety, quality, reliability and teamwork.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with personnel at all levels is essential.
