We are currently looking for an experienced Electrician to become a key member of the team. Based in our Perth workshop you will be responsible for construction, testing, commissioning and maintenance of a range of electrical infrastructure including Control Panels, MCC’s, Power distribution boards, Winding Systems for the mining industry.

This new role includes working with our Electrical Design Engineers on key projects, providing technical support to sites to remedy issues and faults and undertake preventative and reactive maintenance including occasional site work including installation projects.


The types of work that you will be required to undertake include but are not limited to: Assembly of heavy industrial components, maintaining an assembly schedule, commissioning of electrical systems, site installations, site support, site breakdown activities, working on Power Reticulation, Raise Bore Equipment, Automation and Hoisting Equipment within the mining industry.

Requirements

Key Accountabilities


  • Carry out assembly of electrical components as per Insig E&I design. Test as built, liaise with electrical design engineers

  • Maintain QA/QC on assembled products

  • Manage assembly schedules

  • Solve complex equipment related issues, with an emphasis on providing continual product and service improvements.

  • Providing a high level of technical and operational product support to InSig Technologies customers and field service personnel.

  • Build relationships with key suppliers

  • Attend sites as required for advanced diagnostics or project implementation activities. Interstate and International travel when required

  • Provide relief coverage for technology field service support staff as required

  • Provide training and supervision to apprentices

  • Actively participate in personal development training opportunities

  • Comply with InSig Technologies and customer SHEQ and WHS requirements.

  • Ensure compliance with the Workplace Health and Safety Act and regulations set by the Workplace Standards Authority

  • High interest in servicing and repairs on remote control ancillary fixed and mobile equipment and associated communications/network infrastructure. Including tele-remote level designs and network setups.

  • High in underground remote-controlled, guidance enabled equipment, such as underground LHD’s, drilling machines.


Essential Skills and Experience


  • Electrical Trade Qualification and WA Electrical Workers license

  • Minimum 5+ years Underground Mining Experience including Supervision

  • Prior electrical experience and a strong knowledge of the Electrical Safety Code, Workplace Health and Safety Act and other relevant legislation

  • Previous experience with High-Risk Maintenance Activities

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

  • Strong working knowledge of underground electrical equipment and mobile plant auto electrics

  • Optic Fibre and Networking experience or willing to obtain through paid courses by Insig

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams.

  • Must be a self-starter, able to work unsupervised and have a dedicated commitment to safety, quality, reliability and teamwork.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with personnel and external clients.

  • Current first aid certificate
