Insig Technologies is a fast growing for Mining Technology company with a newly created role for a Data Analyst. The role will be based in their head office in Perth, with potential to work remotely from anywhere across the globe, specifically Africa’s, America’s and Asia Pacific, making this a highly flexible and unique opportunity.
As a Data Analyst in our Data / BI Analytics team, you will be working with key business and project stakeholders to discover and understand the data landscape which will assist with the reporting needs of a digital mining platform for an international mining organisation. The solutions will provide remote enablement and automation capability across multiple regions that will increase operational visibility and ultimately support improved decision-making across the business. You will be utilising cloud-based technologies, gathering, designing, managing, and delivering complex data and information management platforms in areas such as business intelligence, machine learning, data mining, complex data analytics, taking a solution from strategy through implementation to managed service.
In this role you can expect to work closely with Project Sponsors, Business Owners, Business Users as well as Architects, Data Scientist & Engineers, Business Analysts and Developers, using the latest industry standards to strategise, design, and deliver robust, secure and innovative analytical solutions.
Assist with discovering and understanding the landscape of the digital mining platform for an international mining organisation;
Facilitate interviews and workshops working closely with leaders, architects and engineers;
Analyse complex data sets and information landscapes, working to design solutions, and deliver as a core part of a multidisciplinary, Agile team;
Document reporting requirements for data repositories and pipelines to consolidate multiple data sources into a comprehensive source for analytics;
Analyse to isolate key trends and business opportunities;
Develop strong business analysis skills including Data Modelling (Conceptual, Logical and Physical) and Business Process Modelling;
Assess the maturity, capability, and information landscape of client organisations and develop strategies and roadmaps to support their implementation;
Assist with the design of analytics governance frameworks, visualisations, data flows, and integrations;
Building relationships and developing platform advocacy across a variety of stakeholders including internal customers, vendor and partners;
Develop the ability to provide insight to new and emerging information management related best practices;
Produce documentation in accordance with prevailing client standards and methodologies; and
Ability to develop reports and dashboards.
Skills and Qualifications:
Tertiary qualified in Business, Analytics, Statistical, Mathematics or Science background preferred;
At least 3+ years’ relevant work experience as an IT Data Analyst;
Knowledge of the Mining technologies and Resources particularly underground mining;
Experienced in data analysis, data modelling and requirements mapping;
Strong analytical skills and ability to logically assess and dissect complex information or data sets in order to identify data patterns;
Intellectual curiosity with the ability to question and problem solve;
Attention to detail and able to process large amounts of complex, unstructured information, draw meaning from it and present findings in a structured manner;
Competent in use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio) and SQL capability;
Experienced in reporting toolsets such as Power BI or other similar BI tool;
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure or other similar cloud products;
Excellent written and verbal skills with a high-level ability to articulate and present complex concepts clearly and concisely;
Ability to effectively build relationships and to work collaboratively with various Stakeholders;
Proven ability to prioritise and manage workload efficiently and demonstrate flexibility in handling changing priorities;
Proven ability to work effectively under general direction, and to work collaboratively to achieve team and individual goals;
Ability to exercise initiative and judgement in the application of established practices or procedures;
Ability to respond receptively to change in a time-critical working environment, learn, promote and apply new ideas and business concepts, and deal with competing priorities;
Aptitude for understanding business objectives and processes and able to document Business Process using BPMN;
Highly self-motivated and self-directed;
